For documents that are already final
Page numbers are the thing everyone forgets until the document is already a PDF โ exported from a tool you no longer have open, assembled from three sources, or sent to you by someone else. Re-opening the source to add a footer is the long way. This tool stamps clean, unobtrusive numbers straight onto the finished file.
The "start at" field is there for real paperwork: when your PDF is chapter two and the printout has to continue from page 47, set it and the count begins there. The "1 / 12" style shows readers how much is left โ handy for handouts and contracts where "page 9" alone means nothing.
Frequently asked questions
Where exactly are the numbers placed?
A comfortable margin from the page edge (about 1 cm) in a neutral gray โ visible, but not competing with your content. Choose any of the four standard positions.
Can numbering start from a number other than 1?
Yes โ set "Start at" to any number. Useful when the PDF is a section of a larger printed document and pagination must continue.
Will the numbers overlap my content?
They sit in the margin area where footers normally live. On pages with edge-to-edge content they may touch it โ check the preview after downloading.
