Uploading a locked PDF to unlock it makes no sense

The PDFs that arrive password-protected are usually documents about you — bank statements, payslips, tax letters, lab results. The classic online unlocker asks you to send exactly that file, together with its password, to somebody's server. Protecting a document and then handing both the document and the key to an unknown machine defeats the whole point. Here the decryption runs in your browser: nothing is transmitted, because there is nowhere to transmit it to.

What exactly gets removed?
Both the open password and the owner restrictions: after unlocking, the PDF opens without asking, and printing, copying and editing limits are gone. The pages themselves are untouched.
I typed the wrong password — do I have to drop the file again?
No. Fix the password in the field and press Enter — the tool retries with the same file. That little courtesy is the whole point of running locally.
